replace empty cells with decimal values in Birt cross tab
kumbare

Hi,

I have created one cross tab report and it contains one column to show currency values and used "For Empty cells, show:" option to replace all empty cells with 0.00 value.

After exporting report to excel these replaced values are showing as String in excel and showing some error 'Number in cell is formatted as Text......'.

Is there any way to provide data type also for empty cell values ?

or is there any approach which can fix this issue ?

Two ways to do this.

1) Add a text element to the crosstab body with the text "0.00" and and have it hide when the binding value for the body aggregate is not null

2) If the aggregate is SUM or can be converted to a SUM you can add a "union all" second SQL statement to the data set SQL that gives a zero record for all combinations of values. This method is also useful for making the crosstab show missing rows and columns.
