<p>BIRT Report - How to identify number of parameters exists in rpt design file through java , is their any API existing for this ?</p>

<p>or we should parse rpt file xml and identify parameters .</p>

<p>You can use the Design Engine API (DEAPI) to get the parameters within the report.</p>
<p>Once you have the ReportDesignHandle you can make a getParameters call to get a SlotHandle to iterate through the parameters.</p>
