What version of BIRT are you using?

Some of the chart types have the option to set the dimensions to 3D.

However, I do not believe there is a surface chart option that will be able to plot in 3D out of the box.

That said, what is your requirement that needs to have a 3D plot?

Typically, 3D charts are not a good idea or practice as they are more difficult to accurately read and cause misinterpretations of results.

hi, i am using Birt Pro 4.4.0.

it is quite common to have 3d data, in sciences or finance etc, useful to be able to rotate it, understand its complexities.

I am not disagreeing that there are situations where a particular type of 3D chart can be useful when displayed in the correct output format with the right type of data. However, there are also many situations where a 3D chart is not necessary and can cause misinterpretation of the data.

The topic of 3D charting aside, I was asking for more details on your requirements for the 3D plotting to try and determine what options are available to meet your requirements.

Out of the box, the HTML5 charts do not have a 3D option. Some of the SVG charts do but there is not a surface chart available and I do not believe they are going to render the way you would need.

Having BIRT Pro 4.4 does give you some options though with the Custom Visualization pallet item. You can use a third party visualization library with it build the chart type you need even if it is not available out of the box.

Without more details on the requirements, I would say using a Custom Visualization that utilizes D3.js is probably going to be the best option to create the chart you are needing.
