BIRT scripting user properties

<p>I cannot figure out how to access report properties via JavaScript.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>I can access report parameters with the predefined params variable e.g. params["MyParam"] but how do I access report properties?</p>
<p> </p>
<p>e.g. report["Author"] or report.design["Author"]</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Maybe I'm missing something in the documentation but I cannot seem to find the answer to this simple thing?</p>

reportContext.getReportRunnable().getProperty("author")</pre>
<p>For example, if you used it in a Dynamic Text Item:</p>

<VALUE-OF>reportContext.getReportRunnable().getProperty("author")</VALUE-OF></pre>
