Launch Maximo report from external application by passing URL parameters

We have a requirement to launch the Maximo BIRT report from an external application by passing the parameter through Maximo URL. Found lot of information on launch the applications by passing URL parameters but do not have any good information on launching the report directly by passing URL parameters.
 
Please let me know the details if anyone has done this. I am looking for details like how should the URL be formed and how can we pass on one or multiple parameters to the report through this URL
