VisualFormat POPUP Button

Hey all,
Quick question. I'm just wondering if anyone knows off hand how to force all VisualFormat TextAreas within a DCT to use a POPUP Button, allowing editing in an external window without using the

external-editor-inline = "f"

command in the datacapture.cfg file? I'm working on converting several templates from a box ,which has this property set, across to a fresh installation of teamsite and can't seem to find this property.

Why are you trying to do this *without* using external-editor-inline="f" ?

When you say you "can't seem to find this property" - where are you looking?

You should be able to set it within the textarea element as an attribute:

<textarea ... external-editor-inline="f" ...>
...
</textarea>

Because I want to know how on the old architecture they achieved it without using this command. The datacapture.cfg files I'm working from don't use it and by default use the pop-up window. How? The only way I know is by using the external-editor-inline command. The eWebEditPro config files seem to be untouched........

Are you using the Java or Browser Interface?

I haven't worked w/the JUI in awhile, but I think the VF is launched in a seperate window by default.

If you you're working w/the BUI you need to explicitly make the VF launch in a seperate window:
1) use the external-editor-inline="f" attribute
2) execute a cgi via a callout

Well, i remember there was a post on the support site describing how to use visual format as a cgi callout.

There was also another way which was hacking one of the product files, which tricks the DCT to think all browsers are Netscape 4. By default Netscape 4 showed VF with a pop up button.

But as others have said, there should be no need to use these methods anymore.
