Import Files - Can't view all files in folder
KTR
Hi,
I want import files into Teamsite workarea from local system thru “Import Files” file menu option. I am not able to see all files under the folder, when I browse to that folder. I can see only few sub folders and few files under the folder. But, I know, there are so many files. What might be the reason for this? Pls suggest me.
I am using Teamsite 5.5.2 on Solaris. Windows(XP) is local system

May be it is permissions issue. Check the permissions under operating system

Same issue here on 5.5.2 & windows 2k. All permissions are same. We cant even see all the mapped drives in "My Computer", not to mention the complete list of workareas and files.

I think it's a bug but I don't know if Interwoven has acknowledged it. Seems to me the applet panel is not painting the whole list and it paints only the list that can be made visible without using the scroll bar. You'd see a difference between the following: before Importing Files resize the browser to a smaller window and then Import versus have the browser maximized and then Import.
But even when a file is not visible, if you were to type the Path, it uploads.

Win XP seems to cause many odd errors like this. What browser version are you using?
I have had serious issues with that applet and IE6. From what I can tell, IE6 doesn't include a java runtime. (you know the whole MS vs Sun lawsuit thing).

I am uing IE6 only with XP. I feel some one from Interwoven Engineering team should respond for this.
Thanks for sharing your ideas.

I understand your frustration. If you are using IE6, there is not a JRE. The upload tool is a java applet and needs the JRE. Be mad at Microsoft, not Interwoven.... If you really want their attention, open a case.
Get the JRE here

Hi,
I had a similar Issue and had opened as case, but it was on windows 2000 box.
The resolution from the interwoven was
This is a bug when JDK 1.4 is installed on client machine:
"When import files, the Launchpad applet does not display all the files in the directory. For example, a directory with 7 files only display the first 2 files. If I type a file name not display and hit enter key the file is added to the file path window to be imported. The client machine has JDK1.4 installed. If disable usage of JDK1.4 from IE 5.5, then the launchpad works. It sounds like Launchpad is interfering with JDK1.4 somehow."

Interwoven Support have registered a bug on this case apparently. They fixed it in TS552SP3. Also, this bug vanishes if I disable the JRE plug-in and use Microsoft JRE.
