Property Binding in DataSource
sriram nagappan

Hi Team,

I have a report which uses two data sources connected to two different DB's. The propery binding works for one of the datasource, but not working for the other datasource. Note, i am passing same parameters in both the datasources like below

JDBC Driver URL: params["jdbc_url"].value

User Name: params["jdbc_user"].value

Password: params["jdbc_pwd"].value

Can you please help on this.

First this is VERY bad practice to pass user credentials via parameters. Second what is the error. Lastly what is the use case for passing user credentials as parameters.

Hi,

The client is not allowing to hard code the credentials, so that's why we are using parameters for DB credentials. I am getting below error

while generating the report from our application

"Cannot get the result set metadata.
SQL statement does not return a ResultSet object.
SQL error #1: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist"

Note, the same way i have used parameters for other datasource, it is working. Can you please help.

Use connection profiles instead of parameters.

In any case the error indicates that the user credentials is successful. Maybe the user logging in does not have access to the table you are using in the query.
