session time out returns to default login page - when birt content embeded in custom app using execu
bcmp
<p>Much appreciated, if someone share the ways to achieve the functionality.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>In a custom web application, the actuate report contents are displayed using executereport.do. But when the session times out it redirects to the iportal login page. Any ideas to redirect to the app login page rather than the iportal login page.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>For login, JSAPI authenticate mechanism is used.</p>

<p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Hi bcmp,</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">When using JSAPI you have the possibility to register an event handler to catch the session timeout and then do what you wish.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">You can add the event handler on the actuate.Viewer object.</span></span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="font-family:'courier new', courier, monospace;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="color:#282828;">viewer.registerEventHandler(actuate.viewer.EventConstants.ON_SESSION_TIMEOUT, function(viewerObj){</span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:'courier new', courier, monospace;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="color:#282828;"> alert('my timeout');</span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:'courier new', courier, monospace;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="color:#282828;"> // place your code to handle the login here</span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:'courier new', courier, monospace;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="color:#282828;"> });</span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color:#282828;">Hope this helps.</span></span></span></p>

<p>To add to Joel's response, since you are using JSAPI to only authenticate and then redirecting(?) to executereport.do to generate/view a report, you can change the behavior of the logout as follows:</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Option 1: Change the action in struts-config.xml</p>
<p>Option 2: Change the login.jsp under ...\iportal\iportal\activePortal\private you can have it redirect to your app. Note that if you make this change, you will not be able to login normally through <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='
http://YourWebPortal:8700/iportal'>http://YourWebPortal:8700/iportal</a>if
you do a simple redirect. You'll need to update the flow accordingly. </p>
<p> </p>
<p>The Information Console timeout default is 1200 seconds. The LOGIN_TIMEOUT setting can be changed via the web.xml. A restart of your application server (or iHub, if using the embedded Tomcat) will be required to take effect.</p>
