Export BIRT source code after code changes as a new launch application
StevieBoy

Dear BIRT expert

I am working with Eclipse 4_4_2 (Luna) and as such I downloaded the relevant BIRT source code so that I could develop some plug-ins and amend the native Java code in some of the folders. I created an eclipse launch configuration and the new report design instance opens up and runs the way I expect it to i.e. it shows my plug-in and code changes (dialog boxes, images, icons etc..). Now I would like to test my project (the new configuration) with some of my colleagues (about 30 or more) and receive their feedback. To do so, my IT dept. have downloaded the full Eclipse IDE (Luna) onto the network so that the application icon is on each of the PC desktops. What I would like to do is in some way have my new configuration of the BIRT report design on each of the downloaded PCs at or soon possible after each person launches Eclipse either by using my code (jar/jar.exe) from a USB, or installing new software on the network or creating a standalone application that launches using the Eclipse IDE platform or some other way (ANT file) etc... I don't want the users to see my code or to copy the code onto a workspace as it takes far too long to do so and I don't want to frustrate them before they even use my application!

Is there a way I can achieve this effectively? Any help would be really appreciated.

Many thanks
