<p>Hello,</p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong>Program and version:</strong></p>
<p>Actuate BIRT Designer Professional<br>
Version: 4.4.0<br>
Build id: v20150710</p>
<p> </p>
<p>I'm having some difficulties figuring out how to solve a problem regarding scatter plots, series, and labels.</p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong>Background:</strong> I have to work with only one (1) data set. I can design the layout of this data set myself, but it should be somewhat easy to figure out such that a "normal person" would be able to understand the layout.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Essentially, I'm plotting the relationship between the risk of investment solutions, and their returns. So the column layout of the data set might look like this:</p>
<pre class="_prettyXprint">
company, product, risk, return
</pre>
<p>Where <span style="font-family:'courier new', courier, monospace;">company </span>is the company name (e.g. Google Investments), <span style="font-family:'courier new', courier, monospace;">product </span>the name of the company product (e.g. "A+"), <span style="font-family:'courier new', courier, monospace;">risk </span>the amount of risk as a decimal, and <span style="font-family:'courier new', courier, monospace;">return </span>is the expected return on investment as a decimal. So a sample row could look like this:</p>
<pre class="_prettyXprint">
("Google Investments", "A+", 0.05, 0.25)
</pre>
<p><strong>What I need:</strong> A scatter plot that shows each risk/return points and where each company has its own color and icon, but where the labels are of the format <span style="font-family:'courier new', courier, monospace;">company + " " + solution. </span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong><span style="font-family:'courier new', courier, monospace;"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">What I have so far: </span></span></strong><span style="font-family:'courier new', courier, monospace;"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">I've experimented with the grouping tool on the "Select Data" part of the chart builder, and that gets me as far as each company having its own color and icon, but the labels are only containing the company name.</span></span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="font-family:'courier new', courier, monospace;"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">If anyone has any input or experiences with similar problems, I would love to hear how you solved them

<br><br>
Thank you.</span></span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="font-family:'courier new', courier, monospace;"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Best regards,</span></span></p>
