calendar setup help
vahu
Hi,
I am trying to setup the calendar example provided by InterWoven. I just cant get the last twist.
The callout works fine when the z_calender.ipl file resides under <iw-home>/httpd/iw-bin. But I want to place it under <iw-home>/httpd/iw-bin/nnit/scripts/z_calendar.ipl. I have tried different things with the cgi-callout element:
<cgi-callout url="/iw-bin/nnit/scripts/iw_cgi_wrapper.cgi/z_calendar_.ipl" label="Vis kalender" window-features="width=200,height=230,resizable=no,toolbar=no,scrollbars=no,titlebar=no"/>
Can anybody tell me how to make a valid url to the file in the script folder ??

Hi,
Because you need to use iw_cgi_wrapper.cgi you must have your script in iw-bin. It appears that iw_cgi_wrapper.cgi won't look anywhere else -- it doesn't help to copy iw_cgi_wrapper.cgi down into your scripts directory so that it is local to your scripts either.
A suggestion has been posted for this and Interwoven has proposed a possible solution you might be interested in implemented:
http://devnet.interwoven.com/forums/cgi-bin/showflat.pl?Cat=&Board=suggestion_box&Number=17044&page=1&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&part=
If you implement this suggestion it would be great it you could share it back on the forum.
Cheers, Michael.

Another workaround so that at least your real code is not in the iw-bin directory (which is the only place TS will look) is to use symbolic links in iw-bin as documented in this KB article.
Can I change the default location required for CGI scripts associated with CGITASK ?
Knowledge Base Article: 46529
Type: Tech Note
Synopsis
The article explains how you can keep cgi scripts associated with CGI tasks under directory other /httpd/iw-bin on a Solaris machine .
Details
Scripts used by cgitasks in a workflow have to reside under <iw-home> /httpd/iw-bin directory on TeamSite Server . Often for convenience and categorization you would want to keep these files at different location . In that case
1. Go to <iw-home> /httpd/iw-bin directory
# cd `iwgethome`/httpd/iw-bin
2.Create symbolic links under <iw-home> /httpd/iw-bin directory pointing to the actual scripts
# ln -s <path to actual file on TeamSite server > <CGI file to be used with CGI task>
3. Use Symbolic links in your CGI tasks

Where can I find this example file (z_calendar.ipl). Can someone post this?

This calendar can be found on the 'collections' tab here on devnet, under the content management heading. Folks who haven't browsed the other tabs on devnet might want to check out the 'devnet overview page here:

The IPL file (after unzip) has lot of junk characters. Looks like the file is corrupted. Is there any other way to download the file?

Last time i looked, which was a very long time ago, the file was actually a word document with the wrong extension. Try opening it up in word.

Vow!!!. You are right, it opens correctly with word. Can someone from IWOV fix this problem?

Yes, I'll have a look at this article this week. Thanks for finding this.
