Formatting issues while exporting to XLSX, but working fine when exporting to DOCX, PDF or viewing i

I have a crosstab in my report. I have put some conditional formatting for data( when value greater than 1 then background colour shoul be red). The report is showing properly in web viewer and when exported to DOCX, PDF also. But the formatting is completely lost when exported to XLSX.

When exported to XLSX, some extra headers also come and some columns become bold, headers format is lost.

I am using

Actuate BIRT Designer Professional
Version: 4.4.0
Build id: v20150710

I have not changed anything from the default installation.

I am attaching the PDF for the way I want the report and also attaching Excel to show what is the difference.

Hi,

I believe this is expected behavior. By default, a BIRT crosstab is exported as an Excel Pivot Table and conditional formatting will be lost. One option is to avoid exporting the crosstab as a pivot table (see option below). This will maintain the conditional formatting.

Hope this helps,

Please can you tell me , where is this "Export Content" settings ?

shamo

Once you select the export content, there is a drop down to select which format you intend to use for exporting and under, there is page settings dropdown and that is where you do this

Sorry I could not find "Export content" :-)

The way I am generating the report is on Eclipse , I click on "View Report" > XLSX Or I will export to XLSX from Chrome HTML Report. -- see attached screenshot.

How did you open "Export Content" settings window ?

shamo

That isn't where to look for it. Where you are is for running the report. Run using web viewer then you will see the export content once you click on the 3 horizontal bars on the left top corner.
