bcmp

Much appreciated if someone could share the steps to show only particular folder in the iportal. Doesn't want to show the volume name, jobs,notifications, etc,. in the left side tree structure.

The configuration file, functionality-levels.config, found under /iportal/WEB-INF will allow you to configure what you want to show to the end user based on Role name. Out of the box, the "All" role shows every feature.

If you change this file, you'll need to restart Information Console.

As for not showing the volume name, the volume tree is dynamically generated by treebrowser.jsp under ...\iportal\iportal\activePortal\private\filesfolders. There is bean that populates that tree via <bean:write name="htmlTreeCode" filter="false"/>

One immediate option is to use JavaScript (or jQuery) and target the
parent, and set the display to none.

In treebrowser.jsp, at the end, you can replace this:

With the following:

It would be great, if there is a ways to show the specific folder contents after login, like Applications.

You can get the full HTML text from the TreeBrowser bean (in treebrowser.jsp under ...\iportal\iportal\activePortal\private\filesfolders) and then manipulate the DOM as needed to just show Applications.

BEFORE:

<bean:define id="theTree" name="htmlTreeCode" filter="false"/>

AFTER (without modification):

<bean:define id="theTree" scope="request">
<bean:write name="htmlTreeCode" filter="false"/>
</bean:define>
<%= theTree %>
