Dashed lines on report - not in legend?
jimseconde

Hi all,

A pretty straightforward question here - if you choose to make the line dashed in a line chart, is there any way the legend can reflect the dashes?

I've got a request for two series to be the same colour, but one dashed - you can't tell them apart at the moment.

Thanks in advance.

This applies to both OS and commercial BIRT. If you change your Series line style to dashed, it will show up in the legend as dashed.

I did notice that if the line width were increased to over 1 px, then the dashes do no show up in the legend. You can report defects @ <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='

It is not possible to change the legend icon in OS BIRT. You can workaround this if you choose a thicker line, to use the dotted line instead. It will almost looks like a dashed line when rendered.

In commercial BIRT, you can change the legend symbol's width easily so that the dash will be displayed correctly if the line width > 1.
