Pushing group trailer to page footer ?
VIFDEV

Hello,

My report is an invoice.

It has several levels (invoice header, item lines, pricing lines, item footer comments, ... , invoice trailer).

The "detail" row is composed of multiple optional elements, so the height of the "detail" row is not fixed.

The invoice trailer is a grid composed of total amounts, dates, ... , and taxes lines.

The major part of the elements of that grid are "elementary" data (to the invoice) but the taxes.

Taxes data are put in a table which can have from 1 to... usualy not more than 4 lines.

The pb is, because it's a table (then, iterative data), i can't put the full grid in the master page footer (another reason is that the footer shouldn't appear before the last page).

So, my pb is : i have in the layout a grid with iterative data that i want to push to page footer at render time.

I don't want to use scripting to put the taxes data into variables (i.e. taxcod1, base1, amount1, taxcod2, base2, amout2,...) because it's really too ugly and looks really not professional (imo).

Even if this would make the full grid movable to master page footer.

So, my idea was to :

- set a fixed height to invoice footer grid

- set an empty "dummy" element just before that grid and adjust that dummy element height at render timer to push the footer grid to a predefined fixed vertical "coord" of the page.

But i didn't find how to get from Birt a "current printing/rendering cursor position in the page" in order to evaluate the value to set the "dummy element" height.

Could this be achieved this way ?

Or another way ?

Thanks in advance for your support/ideas.
