Excel Emitter For BIRT version 4.4.0

I have a report where I have a pivot table which needs to be generated in excel output. Currently when i generate via xlsx, the pivot table display doesn't looks good, it got overlapped.Also in one of the pivot table columns the string values are displaying with Special characters like 'ï¿½'.
 
Im new to actuate and i tried downloaded a couple of excel emitters and pasted in the plug ins folder. But none of them are working.
 
Kindly help me with the solution. Also i need step by step process for how to use excel emitter.

Please use that thread to follow up on your special character question. 
 
As for changing the emitter, if you're using commercial BIRT, the one included with the product is the most robust that includes the Live Excel output where charts are exported as native Excel charts and not images, formulas from the report are exported as native Excel formulas, and BIRT cross tabs are exported as native Excel pivot tables.
 
As with your other issue, since you are not able to attach your design or provide a sample design that we can run outside of your environment, it would be best that you work with you local Support center regarding the output of the pivot table in Excel.
