display text not working for multi selects
gourav2501

Hi Team,

I am working for Sony Picutures entertainment and trying to display params selected from multi select list .It is giving an error. Request you to please help me with the same. BElow is the example that I am using:

Both the below syntax are not working. Request yout to please suggest the fix.

Sony has a license for ihub.

params["x"].displayText.join(",")

ReportContext.getParamDisplayText('x").join(",")

Thanks,

Hi Gourav,

Instead of using "displayText", try using "value", as in

params["x"].value.join(",")

Unfortunately, the displayText method of params seems to be broken...

Since you have a license for iHub, you can always contact OpenText Support for further assistance. If you prefer to post to the forum, please tell us your version number and try to be a bit more specific about any error you get.

Hope this helps,

Hello Pierre,

Thanks for the details. The workaround suggested above will provide the values and not text. Suppose we have a multi select as mentioned below:

Value: "1" , Display text "London"

We want to display "London" on the report and not "1" . The above suggested solution will display "1". User expects "London" to be displayed on his report. Request you to please let us know the way we can display the same on report.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards,

Hi Gourav,

Maybe I was not clear in my previous post, but the displayText method of the parameter does not work when the parameter is set to multiple values. Simply put, params["x"].displayText.join(",") will not work, even though params["x].value.join(",") will.

regards,
