100% Height attribute (Table detail row): Content is not displayed
Criz

Hello guys,

I'm experiencing different behaviors between BIRT422 and BIRT 442.

When 100% is set in a Table Detail Row height, its content is not displayed. It is in BIRT 422 instead.

Replication Steps:

Downloaded the eclipse luna and installed BIRT

Created a table (3x1)

Bound the table to a Classic Model Dataset

Set the table detail height row to 100%

Added an "hello world" label to the detail row

Despite the 100% value it's meaningless in my example and other solutions could be good workarounds, I'd be still interested to understand what causes the difference and be directed in the java classes that issue the table detail row heights (a known bug? or a bug fix?). That would be really helpful!

Thank you very much,

Cris

I tried various versions (OS BIRT 4.2.1, 4.4.2, 4.5.0 and commercial BIRT iHub 3.1). The only version I see the PDF export problem is in OS BIRT 4.4.2.

Are you able to use BIRT 4.5.0?

My guess is it was fixed in StyleProperties.java under org/eclipse/birt/report/engine/layout/pdf/util:

Thanks Clement for your quick answer and the time dedicated to me,

In my code row 74 is correct, but not row 91. https://github.com/eclipse/birt/commit/f933a137df64c8bdd8d771f068463b4def3adbc4
.

However that unfortunately didn't solve the reported bug. The responsible looks to be org.eclipse.birt.report.engine.nLayout.area.impl.TableLayout.updateRow(RowArea, boolean): commenting "&& !isSpecifiedHeight" the content is generated as expected

if ( cell != null )
{
if ( cell.getRowSpan( ) == 1 )
{
if ( !isFixedLayout || sheight == 0 )//&& !isSpecifiedHeight(rowArea))
{
height = Math.max( height, cell.getHeight( ) );
}
}
i = i + cell.getColSpan( ) - 1;
}

Best Regards,

Cris
