BIRT Crosstab Outline Group

<p>I am using BIRT 3.2.23. I have a crosstab report which is grouped by date. I want to be able to draw an outline around the date group so that the measure columns are easily seen as belonging together.</p>

<p>You can achieve this by tweaking the border properties of the cells you want to outline. In the following screenshot, a blue line is added to the SUM(QUANTITYORDERED) aggregation cell to create a left border. A similar thing can be done to the SUM(PRICEEACH) aggregation cell to create a right border. Then, you add a bottom line to the two cells creating the measure header. Finally, to create the outline bottom line, you need first to add a grand total in the column area to create a cell below the aggregation measures. After creating a top border in that cell, you can delete the values if you don't need them. So, in design mode, it looks like this:</p>
