BIRT Cannot detect driver class: oracle.jdbc.xa.client.OracleXADataSource from 'managing JDBC Dr

Birt noobie here. I'm trying to connect a report to the data source using JNDI URL in BIRT, to be deployed on websphere. I need to utilize class oracle.jdbc.xa.client.OracleXADataSource. I have tried all versions of ojdbc drivers and it still doesnt work.
 
I cannot for the life of me select driver class : oracle.jdbc.xa.client.OracleXADataSource....which I'm told is needed to be utilized by our app. Please help.

What version of open source BIRT are you using?
 
What version of Oracle JDBC drivers are you using?
 
Under which directory, did you put the JAR file(s) for the Designer?
 
For example, for BIRT 4.5.0, it would be under ...\eclipse\plugins\org.eclipse.birt.report.data.oda.jdbc_4.5.0.v201506092134\drivers

I am using BIRT 3.7.2, using ojdbc6.jar in \eclipse\plugins\org.eclipse.birt.report.data.oda.jdbc_4.3.1.v201308301349\drivers. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Are you using BIRT 3.7.2? If so, that directory shouldn't exist. In my BIRT 3.7.2, my ojdbc6.jar is located in ...\eclipse\plugins\org.eclipse.birt.report.data.oda.jdbc_3.7.2.v20120213\drivers. The Oracle driver options listed are oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver (v11.2), and oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver (v11.2).
 
Outside of BIRT, even in dbVisualizer (<a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='https://www.dbvis.com/download/'>https://www.dbvis.com/download/</a>), it doesn't show me other options for XA with the same ojdbc6.jar. 
 
Sorry, I haven't connected to a JNI data source in WebSphere before.
 
Do you need to use the class oracle.jdbc.xa.client.OracleXADataSource? According to this (<a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='https://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/java.111/b31224/xadistra.htm#BGBIDIGD'>https://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/java.111/b31224/xadistra.htm#BGBIDIGD</a>): 
 
Like the JDBC OCI driver, the JDBC Thin driver also provides support for Native XA. However, the JDBC Thin driver provides support for Native XA by default.
 
As a test, have you tried using oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver to connect instead?

My mistake, we are using 4.3.1. I have tried oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver but am still not able to establish the connection. Thank you for your help Clement.

Are able to connect to it outside of BIRT using a third-party tool such as DB Visualizer (<a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='https://www.dbvis.com/download/)?'>https://www.dbvis.com/download/)?</a>
