excessive .iwold

I'm watching a test transactional deployment running through the transfer phase. As it's going, it's marking directories for deletion by copying them to *.iwold.
It seems to do this by recursing deep into the directory tree, then backing up files in that directory. It then backs up the parent directory, and in doing so, duplicates the original files AND their backups. It then backs up the parent directory's parent directory, and so on.
This leads to the situation where files are not copied once for a transactional deploy, but actually once
plus
two additional copies for each directory above it (ie. 2
n
- 1, where n is the level the file exists at).
I've attached an excel sheet showing how a single file, existing at the 6th level, has been copied 63 times!
FYI this is OpenDeploy 5.6 (W2K base, Solaris receiver).
Maybe I'm mistaken?!?

This doesn't sound right. You may want to open a case with Tech Support and include the deployment config along with the source and target directory structure.

Thanks Todd,
Was just posting FYI to see if anyone had any thoughts/experience with this particular situation.
It was only a test deployment and not of great concern at this time. Should that change we will certainly raise a support case
cheers
