Can we use an optgroup in a parameter's select list?

<p>Is there a way to use an option group in a parameter's select list?</p>

<p>The BIRT parameter group is not the same as the <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_optgroup.asp'><optgroup></a&gt; HTML tag.</p>

<p>The options are:</p>

<p>1.  Custom parameter page</p>
<p>2.  (possibly) Use jQuery to reformat to your specs</p>
<p>3.  Utilize the parameter value, display text, and sorting to mimic what you're looking for.  Attached is an example.</p>
