BIRT Developer (4.2.2) Hangs on Preview

<p>Hello out there - i have been using the BIRT Developer 4.2.2 for a while on my corporate laptop.  All of a sudden, preview functions (tab and view as PDF) both hang when trying to present the selection criteria view.  I am wondering if possibly a corporate update might have blocked a port which the developer needs?..just a thought.  This is Win7-x64.  Any help would be appreciated. -- len</p>

<p>It's most likely an update with IE (Internet Explorer) or Safari.</p>
<p>Try changing BIRT's default browser to Chrome or Firefox:</p>
<p>Set External Browser = Window -> Preferences -> Report Design -> Preview ->  <span style="background-color:rgb(249,249,249);font-family:monospace;font-size:14.82px;">☑ </span>Always use external browsers</p>
<p>Set Browser To Use = Window -> Preferences -> General -> Web Browser ->  ðŸ”˜ Use external web browser</p>
<p>    Then pick your browser from the list.</p>
