<div>I'm new to Birt, and am exploring the OpenText Analystics Designer software and am studying the "Actuate Birt Application Developer's Guide" and I'm in the implementation point of Birt application and am setting up a "New Server profile" when I make the settings required in document, it is giving a connection error:</div>

<div>Connection refused: connect</div>
<div>Plug-in Provider: Actuate</div>
<div>Plug-in ID: com.actuate.istudio.shared</div>
<div>Error Code: java.net.ConnectException</div>

<p>Could you try to install Birt designer on the same server where iHub is installed and repeat the test?</p>

<p>The configuration seems correct so it really seems tehre is a problem to connect to iHub.</p>

<p>Could you try to access the following url with a browser?</p>

<p>iHub needs the port 8000 to be free when installing it. Here you can find a list of othe rports that needs to be free when installing iHub:</p>

<p>Obvious enough, but I mention it anyway, iHub has to be started in order for the designer to be able to access it.</p>

<p>in order to be able to create a server profile you need to have iHub installed on your machine. Could you confirm you have iHub installed?</p>
