Are you using open source BIRT, or commercial BIRT?

With commercial BIRT, a Salesforce.com JDBC connector is included with the product, OEMed from Progress DataDirect.

With open source BIRT, you'll have to use your own Salesforce.com JBDC connector, or ODA. Some options include:

Progress DataDirect Salesforce.com JDBC (https://www.progress.com/jdbc/salesforce)

CData Salesforce.com JDBC (<a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='

Simba (http://www.simba.com/drivers/salesforce-odbc-jdbc)

Reliersoft (<a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='

-- The driver is free while in version 0.x. Support for the free version will be discontinued 3 months after version 1.x is released.
