Trying to preview results in a data set completely closes BRD Pro
CodeRookie

Good morning, all!

I have an issue that I wonder if anyone else has run into before. One of my report designs, when I try to 'Preview Results' in the data set, will completely shut down the designer. It does this in both BRD Pro 3.1 & BRD Pro 3.1.1 (v20150206 & v20150710, respectively). I'm at a bit of a loss on this one.

Thanks for any thoughts on the matter!

Hi Scott,

Is this one of the reports where you edited the XML? It's possible the XML is corrupted. If you create a new data set in the report based on Classic Models (requires new data source), does the Designer crash when you preview that data set? That test could narrow down the source of the issue. Also, have you checked the Windows Event Viewer? It might provide some insight into the cause of the application crash.

Regards,

Jeff,

Good morning! This isn't one of the reports we modified the XML on. I will try the process you suggested, and also look at the Windows Event Viewer.

Thanks,
