Web CMS (TeamSite)
portable iwperl location (hardcoded)
nipper
The first line of a script needs to be:
#!/usr/iw-home/iw-perl/bin/iwperl
Since I am working on a dev server, prod may put the iwhome elsewhere
I could use a relative path to iwperl or I can place the iwperl
in the system PATH and not and just use:
#! iwperl
No answer thrills me, what do other companies do ?

We make sure our dev and prod servers are set up identically so we don't run into things like this. Why can't you set up your dev server to have iwperl in the same path as your prod server?

I agree with Dave.
On the same point we always have a symbolic link (solaris, no idea what the alternative is on windows) that points back to one spot.
So teamsite may be installed at /opt/interwoven/teamsite
but we always reference /iw-home which points back to the installation.
That way, you can have it installed in different spots without your code being affected.
