Report Bursting with BIRT

This example, provided by Mica Block (mblock), will burst out multiple report output files based on the driver report content. In the example I utilize web services to submit the bursted report to the iServer, get the report in the desired format, and place the result on the iServer.<br />

An example driver report is attached, as well as the bursted report. Also attached are the required jar files and a zip file with all the associated web service code.<br />

The jar files all need to be placed in the Actuate11\iServer\reportengines\engines\birt\lib directory and the iServer needs to be restarted once the jar files are in place.<br />

The DriverReportScript.rptdesign uses the sample database and executes the following code via the following script in the data item's onCreate() method:<br />
All of the values for the script are set in report parameters so that you can control it at runtime.<br />
