Moving TS5.5 to another machine
NitaPatel
Hi all,
I installed teamsite5.5.2 on machine A. once it was working fine and all, i made a ghost image of it. after a month or so, i am putting the same ghost image on different machine. However, TeamSite doesn't seem to response to the change. I have made the following changes in
-changed machine name iw-home/iw-webd/conf/httpd.conf\
-changed machine name in iw.cfg file
-ran iwreset -a
-changed the user information in iw-home/conf/role/*.uid files
i still haven't been able to get TeamSite to work on the new machine. Anyone has any clue as of what i am missing?
Thanx!
Nita

First...whats is the problem that you are having... Is your mount showing up?...are you able to get to the loging page? Does you logs contain any helpful information?
Check your license "install\tsisvalid.log"
If it is an error as such check this out

lastly
Also do a search on your Machine B of Machine A's Server name and IP in the ts-home dir

Is this solaris or NT?
Is a ghost image of the entire box, or just a partition w/ iw-home?
Some error messages would be useful here. Can you paste in the last few lines of the iwtrace/iwserver log?
Also, if you get TS up and running, but users cannot login, check the hostname values in the following file:
iw-home/iwopenapi/openapi.cfg
I assume the hostname has changed? See this for more background:

Hi,
I would presume that the problem you are having is that, because the license is generated under one machine name, if you change the machine name then the Teamsite instance wont work. But it would be nice if you could provide more info anyway.
