hi,
1. Is OpenAPi the only programmable way to do a 'Search' in Interwoven?
2. Are there any other ways to do a search which can be then integrated with an external program?

The search capability in OpenAPI is really meant to be TeamXML specific. I believe you need to purchase TeamXML to make use of the search capability.

If you have specific search requirements you should probably contact your sales folks, so we capture them.
