External tasks in workflow

Hi,
I created an external task in my workflow and have provided a transition from it to end task. The task is being run, but nor does the task get removed from the creator's todo list, nor does it provide an option to transition. all i can do is to log in as master and remove the job....am i missing something here...pls help

Are you doing a callback at the end of your script?

If not, have a look at the Workflow manual for the different ways of performing a callback. A callback signals to workflow that your task is complete and you are ready to proceed to the next task.

Hope this helps! If not, perhaps you should attach to your post the workflow file and external script.

Please confirm as well in the iwtrace.log that your script is not generating any errors, as this could be enough so that no transition is performed.

You must be calling some external file, for e.g. some ipl file. Either as suggested you must not have done a callback, or there is a problem in the ipl file.
