Assuming the image is stored in resources folder, for a default installation the URL that you will need to pull the image looks something like:<br />

http://HOSTNAME:8900/iportal/servlet/DownloadFile?name=/Resources/Image.PNG&__vp=VOLUME_NAME&userid=administrator&password=<br />

Note that you will need to change HOSTNAME to your hostname of the machine and VOLUME_NAME to encyclopedia volume name of BIRT iServer.
