How to file ASCI file to Documentum?

Hello there.

I am really brand new to Documentum processes. There is a gorup in our office who uses Documentum to file reports from a midrange application. Midrange application sends reports in ASCII file to documentum. Documentum converts these ascii reports to PDF and allows users to search in various fields.

I have a report that creates a output file but it contains extra characters that are only good for printer. If want to file this report to Documentum is there any way to remove these special characters from the report before publishing it for user. I don't have contract on the source code that generates these reports.

If you can't modify the application which imports these files in Dctm, you must do something after import.

1. Create a job, which collects newly imported documents, process them, and mark them as processed. Only processed documents could be thereafter published.

2. I assume you already have DTS (Document Transformation Services as these files are automatically converted to PDF. Modify your register.xml, to call an another profile (you must develop this new plugin), which strips these characters before PDF conversion
