Documentum in Crisis?

My discussion is in regards to job openings that require documentum skillset in developer/admin/architect/consultant roles. I am based in the UK and it seems like something is fundamentally wrong with the strategy of EMC regarding documentum. There has been a steady but constant decline in the number of documentum roles or openings out there and this is pre-financial crisis. Even existing customers are considering to make a move to FileNet, SharePoint, OpenText etc. A senior manager in my company indicated that rather than upgrading to 6, they may consider another ECM system. Pricing of the system is one of the key issues here I think? Why is EMC failing both the product and the professionals who make a living on this?

Are you sure you're looking in the right places?? There are a number of Documentum opportunities out there in the market and I know of some which are just not getting filled. With regards to the market share of Documentum as opposed to other products, this is growing, I know this from statements from EMC but also from experience in the marketplace.
