DFS Session Pooling

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if when we're using the client productivity layer if there is any session pooling enabled? As there is no disconnect method, are sessions being re-used or do they time out? Or are they managed in some other manner.

I have a client who will be creating a consumer app and they have concerns about session management with large numbers of transactions.

DFS 6.5 maintains a one-to-one relationship between a ServiceContext instance token and a DFC session manager. These session managers are stored in a cache and have an expiration timeout. By default it's 60m and can be configured through dfs-runtime.properties:

# ContextRegistry service expiration variables
dfs.crs.cache_expiration_after_x_minutes=60
dfs.crs.perform_cleanup_every_x_minutes=20

The first parameter indicates when the session managers expire (can be removed from cache) and the second one indicates the interval at which the actual removal is being performed.

The productivity layer generates a token for the ServiceContext automatically, thus making the developer's life easier.
