Webtop 6 menubar customisation

Hi there, Im new to Documentum and WDK so please excuse the explanation below

Im currently modifying the menu bar in webtop 6. In the inbox view I want to be able to display the file --> new document and file -->. import document menu which will subsequently fire off the new document and import actions. Currently it does not display this. (It can be displayed in the home cabinet view) . I have modified the menubar component but to no avail. There sees to be some internal setting somewhere in the inbox component that disables these actions

I was wondering if this is possible to do by modifying the presets. I have read the webtop 6 user guide. but this doesn't really tell you how to do this, I have tried playing around with the settings but again no success

Could anybody offer ay suggestions, that can help me achieve this.

No can do as you cannot create a document in the inbox. The inbox is only for Notifications and tasks, not to store documents. That's what folders are for.

Hi there,

Sorry I didn't make myself clear enough. I have customised/overidden the inbox component (default webtop one). I have created my own inbox, with my own columns, features, view etc.... My inbox displays the documents in a datagrid with columnpanel controls. I know that using webtop straight out of the box you cannot create documents in inbox, but with my own customised inbox which displays the users documents in a datagrid i want to be able to allow the user to create a document through the file menu and fire the newdocument action. I have also disalbled the browser tree on the left as i want to be able to restrict the views that the user can see. I want to be able to undisable this I would attach an jpeg but the datagrid has sensitve information.

Is there no way of overriding this???

Actions are enabled/disabled by Preconditions. Most of them use some scoping of course. As your inbox component most possibly does not have a folder context, import action is not enabled as it would know where (in which folder) to import. Debug a component to see which context argument (component.getContext() and afterwards create new Context() and put new arguments there) has to be set to enable the import action.

Instead of removing the browser tree, you could reconfigure it to display only the stuff allowed for the users. On top of that, in 6 and 6.5 you can also limit access to some folders to the users so they can't navigate in the whole docbase. Maybe that could do the trick for you
