checkin multiple files using action services

hi guys,

I would like to checkin a list of objects using actionService. What I did was I loop through the objects and then checkin them by calling the actionService.execute("checkin") command within the loop. However, I realised that the actionService for checkin would only invoke once and that only one file is checked in. Any idea how I can resolve this? Thanks in advance

You could pass all the objects to check in in the same ArgumentList parameter. You need to play around with the ArgumentList encode/decode methods

Hi, I've tried to pass in multiple object into the argumentList by using the following code:

String dql = "select r_object_id from dm_document where folder('" + sb.toString() + "')";

IDfQuery q = new DfQuery();

q.setDQL(dql);

IDfSysObject myObj = (IDfSysObject)this.dfSession.getObject( DfId.valueOf(resultset.getString("r_object_id")) );

arg.add("objectId", resultset.getString("r_object_id"));

arg.add("silent", "true"); arg.add("version", "same");

arg.add("keepLocalFile", "false");

boolean blnCheckedIn = ActionService.execute("checkin", arg, this.getContext(), this, null);

Somehow, it still didn't work. Only the first file has been checked in. Am I missing something here?

Here is something you could use instead of the action service

Note that your component should actually be called by your container to be able to handle multiple objects (autocommit)

final ArgumentList containerArgs = new ArgumentList();

containerArgs.add("component", "mycomponent");

// Set the 1st object to process

containerArgs.add("objectId", m_sObjectId);

for (int ii = 0; ii < objectIds.length; ii++)

{

final String strEncodedArgs = objectIds[ii];

final ArgumentList args = ArgumentList.decode(strEncodedArgs);

args.replace("component", "mycomponent");

args.add("arg1", sArg1);

containerArgs.add("componentArgs", ArgumentList.encode(args));

It's only an example of exta paramer from your container/component i.e objectId=xxxxxxx

To be honest, I think it's time for a good old WDK training.

Basically the idea owuld be to do something like the check out/in.... components work.

Check how they're done, also you migth want ot have a look at the WDK tutorials
