Accessing DFS services in Flex App

Does anyone have some example code for accessing DFS services in an Adobe Flex-3 application?

I have been trying to adapt one of the DFS Java samples (TQueryServiceTest.java) to run in a very simple Flex app (as a proof of concept), but I'm having difficulty finding the secret handshake between the two.

Any suggestions or sample code will be most appreciated.

If you have created two separate projects for Flex and Java (to call DFS) then you add one more node to remoting-config.xml for the java file as follows.

<source>com.companyname.TestClass</source>

</properties>

</destination>

And from flex you can call the method in the TestClass from the following RemoteObject

<mx:script>

</mx:script>

<mx:RemoteObject id="testId" destination="testClass">

<mx:method name="myTestMethod"/>

</mx:RemoteObject>

If you are still getting the error,

1. What IDE you are using?

2. Did you try to run the java project alone?

remember that ,once u added dfs sdk jar files in eclipse build path,then also put all jar files in the lib directory (which will be in left pane of eclipse).

Thanks for the info. But I m looking for a purely SOAP based webservice approach rather than via Blaze. Or if there is an implementation to consume CMIS via Flex webservice.

As I tested, there are problems for Flex App to access DFS directly. A workaround solution is that you implement a wrapper service to encapsulate DFS and access the wrapper service in Flex App through HTTP service component.

Flex 3 only supports SOAP 1.0 so there is no chance to consume DFS directly at the moment. Probably this will change with Flex 4.

Another point for not consuming SOAP directly within your Flex app is performance.
