Problem in getting results using DQL

All,

I used the following query in DQL Editor to retrieve the folder contents.

select count(r_object_id) from dm_folder where folder('/Temp/Jobs/dm_DBWarning')

It returns 111 results.

It starts from object name : 10/1/2008 8:15:39 PM dm_DBWarning

If I use this query in DFS Query service it returns 185 results.

It starts from object name : 4/25/2007 7:38:36 AM dm_DBWarning

But I could not get the contents of the object (4/25/2007 7:38:36 AM dm_DBWarning) which got from DFS Query service.

Why the number of returned results differ from DQL Editor to DFS Query Service?

How do I get similar results on both DQL Editor and DFS QueryService?

Can any one help me?

By DQL Editor you mean Documentum Administrator's DQL Editor tool? Do you use the same credentials?

The content is not returned maybe because there is no content for that object...

Yes,I'm using the Documentum Administrator's DQL Editor Tool with same credentials.

In my DFS QueryService client I've used this same credentials to create Service context to invoke service.

My Question is if the content doesn't exists how the service return it's metadata only? it's a dm_document type object.

If you want to get dm_documents, then the original query should look like this, not?

select count(r_object_id) from dm_document where folder('/Temp/Jobs/dm_DBWarning')

What is returned using both with the following?

select count(*) from dm_document (all) where folder('/Temp/Jobs/dm_DBWarning')

I don't get why you get different results with QueryService and with DQL. Do you use Passthrough query with DFS?

Oh, yeah, one more thing. Objects can exist without content. Just try File/New/Document without selecting a template. Later you can add content if you wish.

DFS 6.5 is using the following approach, eventually, to execute a query:

IDfCollection result = new DfQuery().execute(session, IDfQuery.CACHE_QUERY);

Could you please try executing your query as indicated above, against your docbase, and compare the results to what you got from DFS and DA?
