Documentum 6.5: Turning off tag pooling for JBoss 4.20

Hello,

I've got the following error when trying to access the webtop (http://localhost:8080/webtop):

com.documentum.web.form.control.TagPoolingEnabledException: JSP tag pooling is not supported. Please refer to the product deployment guide for instructions on turning off tag pooling for the application server.

Any help?

If you have a look in the install/deploy pdf guide and scroll down a bit there is a section on what to do, remember that under jboss it uses tomcat.

It's page 29 of the Documentum WDK and Webtop 6.5 Deployment Guide.

Hi!

Try to delete the contents of the "work" folder under Tomcat's folder and restart the appserver.

The deletion of the work folder is what is needed. Tomcat caches quite a bit of information here and it needs to be removed once the tag p[ooling changes have been made. I made the same mistake when first installing 6.5 and had to do this.

The 'work' folder will be underneath your JBoss installation folder, in the server/<type> folder where type ill be all, default or minimal. In a standard setup it will be underneath the default folder. Follow down into the folders underneath until you see the ones for the web app you have, i.e. da for Documentum Administrator, webtop for Webtop etc and delete the requisite folder, remembering to have JBoss stopped when doing this.

Dear All,

I am also getting same error message when i am trying to run WebTop using the Apache Tomcat 5.5.9.

I have configured the webtop on my laptop and Content Server is install on other machine.To remove the above error i have followed all the steps written in the previous post of this topic but i am still get same error message.

i have added following tags in the web.xml to disable pooling.

<initparam>
<paramname>enablePooling</paramname>
<paramvalue>false</paramvalue>
</initparam>

i am using webtop 6.5 so if somebody provide me web.xml after modifaction then it will be greate.

Hi Nitin,

Firstly, make sure you have disabled pooling at correct location in web.xml. It should like:

    <servlet>
        <servlet-name>jsp</servlet-name>
        <servlet-class>org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServlet</servlet-class>
        <init-param>
            <param-name>enablePooling</param-name>
            <param-value>false</param-value>
        </init-param>

        <init-param>
            <param-name>fork</param-name>
            <param-value>false</param-value>
        </init-param>
        <init-param>
            <param-name>xpoweredBy</param-name>
            <param-value>false</param-value>
        </init-param>
        <load-on-startup>3</load-on-startup>
    </servlet>

Secondly, delete all files and sub folders in "temp" and "work" folders then restart tomcat.

Nitin,

I faced the same issue today and the problem was the copy paste from the PDF. On copy and past it removed '-' from all the tag names. Looking at your post it seems you are having the same issue.
