Sending email with default author submit workflow

hi, i am trying to modify the author_submit.wft to enable it to send an email to the editor once an author has submitted a file without any success. any help is greatly appreciated.

On the face of it, your question sounds very simple - but unfortunately I'm not sure it makes much sense as written.

What do you mean by "an author has submitted a file without any success" ?

The only way that an Author submits a file to staging is via a workflow and the task for performing the actual submission of the file(s) to staging must be owned by an Editor (or higher) - so can you describe in a bit more detail what you are trying to do / what situation(s) you are trying to handle?
