Documentum 6.5 error

Hi all,

I have Documentum 6.5 intalled. It worked fine untill i installed a TBO to over-ride the "doSave()" method for "dm_document". After this, when i access the DA, i get either a "StackOverflow" exception or "invokeMethod() failed while calling: onLogin null" exception. Is this because of the TBO or there is some other problem with Documentum. I have attached the stacktraces for both the exceptions.

Is this the first time you have deployed this TBO?

Overlooking the fact that putting a TBO directly on dm_document is not recommended (too wide a scope, narrow it down to a custom type), a stack overflow is indicative of a circular reference in your TBO. For example, IDfSysObject.save() being called within doSave().

This is the first time i deployed this TBO for dm_document. However i have deployed the same TBO for other document types and it worked fine. Here is my code for the doSave method.

it links the document to folder called "newFolder"

1) The scope is too wide, dm_document encompasses too much, don't use TBO at this level.

2) There is a super.doLink() method that should be used instead of calling link directly

3) The overhead of creating a whole new session manager and session to do this link functionality is too high, and would most likely interfere with other operations occuring on this object. You have access to the user's session by calling getSession()

The thing to remember is that BOF TBO are global functionality. It is applied to every DFC client, everywhere. This includes the: Index Agent, CTS box, all Webtop instances, the Java Method Server, DFS services, and all custom DFC applications.
