Customize FileName while Exporting-Webtop

Hello All,
I want to append some string to the File Name while exporting.
i.e if the file name is "FILENAME" then while exporting this document i want to append one of its attributes value( say "custom_attribute") to the FILENAME, so that when I export this document to my local machine the name of the file should be "custom_attribute_FILENAME.format"

How can i achieve this in 5.3sp6 ?
can anyone has any solution please help me out.

it is really very urgent and any help will be really appreciated

Never done it for export but I did it for check out.

You'll need to customize the services in the component. Extend the Export component to change the service to your own class and then create a class that extends the out of the box service class

First of all Thanks for the reply,

I have extended the Export compoent and which class i need to extend it because in Export component there is a Component class (com.documentum.webcomponent.library.contenttransfer.export.Export) and there is a processor-class (com.documentum.web.contentxfer.impl.ExportProcessor). So which one i need to extend it.

It will be really helpfull if you can put some sample code on this task.

Actually iam new to Customizing Actions.I have never done it before.

I got another 4 days to complete this task.If you can help me out in this task it will really great full.

I have decomplied many classes (services and processor) and what i understood is, the objects which are selected for Export are put in a Package as object Id.

And there is one class at com.documentum.web.contentxfer.server.ContentTransferService which has

public String export(String strObjectIds, String strDescendantsFlags, String strRenditions, String strPageModifiers, PageContext pageContext) {

In this class some where in the middle there is one line which takes the ObjectName from the Id

String strDesiredName = node.getObject().getObjectName();

But i don't no, how the flow is ?

Please if you have anytime try to help me out in solving this issue.

As I said, I didn't do it for export but I did it for checkout to change the checkout directory

Basically what I did was extend the checkout component with something like

And then in my class, I did something llike:

        final IDfCheckoutPackageItem item = (IDfCheckoutPackageItem) getDfPackageItem();
        if (item == null || !(item instanceof IDfOutboundPackageItem))

final IDfContentPackageFactory factory = DfcUtils.getClientX().getContentPackageFactory();
final IDfClientServerFile csFile = factory.newClientServerFile();

// Specifying I'm setting the directory
csFile.setIsDirectory(true);

// Setting the dir

csFile.setClientFile(factory.newClientFile(MyDir));

        if (item != null && item instanceof IDfOutboundPackageItem)
        {
            final IDfOutboundPackage pkg = (IDfOutboundPackage) item.getPackage();
            pkg.setDestinationDirectory(csFile);
        }
    }
}

Hello Everybody,

I got the solution for this Issue.

If anyone is facing the same problem here is the solution for it.

Steps

1) Extend Export Component

2) There is component class(Export.class) and also processor class(ExportProcessor.class)

3) Write a custom class which extends componentclass(Export.class)

4) write down following code in it,no need to write super.getServiceProcessor() in the following code as whole method is taken from Export class,However I just added 3 extra lines which will modify the FileName in the Client Machine.

sysObject.setObjectName("Add whatever you want");

proc.setObjectId(strObjectId);

proc.setFormat(getContentType());

proc.setPageModifier(getPageModifier());

(!isIgnoreDescendents())proc.setDownloadDescendants(getDownloadDescendantsSelection());

proc.setVirtualDocRootObjectId(getInitArgs().get(

Can we do following thing as well with above approach .

I want to override export behavior. It is like, When user selects export,

1) it should call my export method (I am assuming ,Here i will override Export method )

2) i have to do some kind of encryption on file .

3) Export it to Local machine .
