How do I create a new event???????????

I'm currently customazing WebTop and one of the requirements is to
add a  dropdownlist (reason code) to the workflow signoff task page.

When a  performer signs off a workflow activity, he/she has to select
a reason code  before signing off. This reason code will now be added
to the audit trail  (dm_audittrail).

The problem is I can't find the jsp/class page where  the workflow is
being written to the Audit Trail.

Does someone knows  it?

Audit is not written by the client applications (like Webtop), that's the point of tha audit trail, it cannot be worked around - at least System based events like dm_signoff. They are added to the audittrail by content server/workflow engine.

Of course if you create user defined events, they can be added anytime, anywhere but because of this from other applications they are not working. If this is acceptable, then you can create audit records from DFC code (to better say with "createaudit" API command).
