Default folder for a user

Hi ,
I want to change the user's default folder path from \Username to \Test\Username

Now, I know this can be set from DA for new users and run a script for existing users to change their location.

My requirement is whenever a new user is created for e.g. Banerjee then the default cabinet/folder for Banerjee should be created in \Test. So the path for the Banerjee's default folder becomes \Test\Banerjee.

Please help me out of this. Its urgent.

I think it might be easiest if you simply use a DQL script to create the folder and the user.

I would suggest as following the below steps :

Create a folder for the user you are creating in the Test cabinet through DA
Then create the user and select the folder for the new user you have created in DA

Lastly I would advise you to file a Feature Request defect on DA

"File a Feature Request in DA" means that you should create a support case in Powerlink and state in the description that it is a Feature Request. You will get informed if and when the new feature will be implemented in DA.

More information:

When you choose to create the user under a particular folder, Content Server would update the default_folder attribute of dm_user to the updated folder path.

By default, whenever a user is created it is linked to /Temp cabinet.

If you are creating users in the repository using LDAPSynchronization then map the default_folder properties of dm_user with some LDAP attributes or a constant value or with some expression in the LDAP config Object.

For Example :- Suppose you want to name the default folders for new users using the user’s givenname and surname. You can map the LDAP attributes givenname and sn to the default folder. The expression for that mapping is: ${givenname} ${sn}

In this case, the rejection rule is to reject the entry if either attribute is empty.
The values in the ldap config object properties are:
map_attr[0]=default_folder
map_val[0]=${givenname} ${sn}
map_attr_type[0]=dm_user
map_val_type[0]=E
map_rejection[0]=1

If default_folder is not mapped to a value, the job sets the default folder to /Temp.

If you want to use DA to create a user you can load them in the LDIF format decribed in the admin guide.
