Webtop Preference

Our webtop is customized, initially when twe set up the webtop it was a requirement that users should not be bale to make any changes to the webtop preference, even though they can go to webtop > preference and make changes, CHANGES SHOULD NOT TAKE PLACE and Changes will not get saved. But the developer who worked on this no longer around and I am an Admin.

How can I go and enable the Webtop preference changes? I think it's an XML configuration.We want users to be able make changes with Webtop Preference. Any help you can provide us will be appreciated.

I would start by looking at the WDK/app.xml file in your webtop application. Usually this file controls global settings and I believe preferences are also controlled from that level.

There is also a preferences component under Webcomponent\config\environment

I checked under wdk/app.xml. I don't even see any entries for preference:

search for the preferences XML component definition file and see if the handling class is the original.

I'd start by searching for it in the custom/config directory of your app server. I suppose your developer extended it to disable saving, if you want to re-enable it, just change the component id in the XML file to a non existing id and then restart the app server
