Problem with installing the 6.5 Content Server Developer Edition environment

I receive the following message on my Windows machine when I attempt to run the documentumSetup.exe

"An exception occured in: DiWAOemInitialize, beanID: oemInitialize - DiWAOemInitialize failed! - Other Documentum software is already installed. Uninstall all Documentum software then try again."

Not sure what this means but I hate to remove the Documentum stuff that I have installed. Any suggestions on what specific components that I should remove?

catman, Developer Edition is expected to be the first piece of Documentum software installed on the system and the last piece to be uninstalled.

You need to uninstall Documentum Foundation Classes (DFC) in order to proceed with Developer Edition install. Most other Documentum software relies on DFC. You will need to uninstall the dependent software before you uninstall DFC.

Hello,

The Developer Edition requires that pre-existing Documentum SW be uninstalled for successful installation. This is a constraint that is noted as a pre-requisite during installation.
