Patches and Updates

Is it safe to assume that the latest and greatest releases of a patch or SP includes the fixes included in previous patches/SP.

For instance...

OD 5.51

Patch
Patch ID 1294
Patch ID 1264
Patch ID 1261
Patch ID 1254

SP
Service Pack 2
Service Pack 1

After installing OD 5.51 I should then install SP2 and then Patch ID 1294 and I should be Strait?

That's typically the case for OpenDeploy. To be sure, you can check a couple of things via the SP and patch documentation:

1. If a SP comes out after a patch, you should see the bugs that were listed for the patch also listed for the SP.

1a. Note that if two patches are released in a row, the second one will usually include the fixes from the first one. But it's good to check the list of fixed bugs to be sure.

2. The installation instructions for a patch should tell you what it needs to be installed on top of. So if a patch states that OD 5.5.1 SP2 must be installed, then the patch was released after SP2 and includes new fixes.

So installing OD 551, followed by SP2, followed by patch 1294 should do it for you.
