Hey, all. We're about to migrate our 5.3SP6 installation to 6.5SP1. I was wondering if anyone could answer the following questions about the development environment:
- Can Composer be added as a plugin to my existing Eclipse 3.4.2 environment? I know that the documentation states that it does not support this, but I was wondering if anyone had any problems.
- Is there a recent "best practices" sort of document for setting up the development environment for the application server stuff? Something on getting it into Eclipse + WTP and maybe avoiding server restarts when editing JSPs, Java classes and WDK configuration XMLs.
- Along the same lines, is there a standard build and deployment process? I have yet to dive in to the "headless" composer, but from what I understand, it allows scripting through Ant tasks (documented this time, as opposed to the hidden 5.3 Ant tasks) of content server artifacts. Maybe people want to share their project layout and Ant scripts? I would kill for a Maven repo of, say, the DAM libraries with their dependency tree mapped out, but perhaps that's just me.
That's all I can think of right now. If anyone else has comments or questions about their D6.5SP1 development environment, I would love to hear about it.
